Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

1. What this policy covers

Atlas Education (“Atlas,” “we,” “us”) is a college admissions consulting business. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit atlaseducation.co, contact us, book a consultation, join our email list, or interact with our Instagram account, and how we use, share, and protect it.

It also describes the data we receive from Instagram and Meta through our internal lead tracking tool (Section 4) and how you can ask us to delete your information (Section 8).

This policy applies to atlaseducation.co, our Instagram account, and the forms, emails, and tools we use to work with students and families. It took effect on October 17, 2026.

2. Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to share with us. This includes:

  • Contact and inquiry forms. When you fill out our Contact Us form or any other form on our site, we collect what you enter: typically your name, email address, phone number, grade or graduation year, school, and what you are looking for help with. If a parent fills out the form, we collect the parent’s contact details along with the student’s name and grade.
  • Strategy calls and consultations. When you book a free Strategy Call or a paid session, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and scheduling details (through our scheduling tool). For paid sessions, payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. We also keep notes from calls about your academic background and goals so we can advise you.
  • Email list and free guides. When you request one of our free guides, sign up for a webinar, or join our newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your name.
  • Messages on social media. If you message us, or comment a keyword on one of our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube posts to request a resource, we see your username and your message. Our automated messaging tool may ask for your email address so we can send you the resource. Section 4 explains what we receive from Instagram’s API separately.
  • Client work. If you become a client, we collect the information needed to advise on your applications, such as transcripts, test scores, activities, essays, and application details. Your client agreement covers how that information is handled.
  • Feedback and job applications. Session feedback forms and internship applications collect the details you provide in them.

3. Information collected automatically

When you visit atlaseducation.co, our site collects standard technical data: pages viewed, the link or site that brought you here, approximate location based on your IP address, device and browser type, and the date and time of your visit.

We use a Google tag for Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking, which sets cookies to measure how people find and use the site. Links we share in our videos and posts record which one brought you to us, and that source may be attached to your inquiry so we know which content is useful.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some analytics will not record your visit.

4. Instagram and Meta Platform data (our lead tracking tool)

We run a small internal tool that connects to Instagram’s API (provided by Meta) so we can see which of our Instagram reels bring students to us. Here is exactly what it does.

What it accesses

  • Our own account: the Instagram account ID and username of the Atlas Education Instagram account.
  • Our own posts: the ID, link, posting time, media type, and comment count of the reels we publish.
  • Comments on our posts: the comment ID, the comment text, when it was posted, and the commenter’s Instagram user ID and username.

What it does not access. The tool reads comments on Atlas Education’s own posts only. It does not read your profile beyond your public username and user ID, your direct messages, your own posts, your followers, or your activity anywhere else on Instagram. It is read-only: it does not post, reply, like, follow, or send messages.

Why we use it. When you comment a keyword on one of our reels, we want to know which reel brought you to us, and whether you went on to request a guide, book a Strategy Call, or apply to work with us. This tells us which content is useful so we can make more of it.

Linking to other information. If you later request a guide, book a call, or contact us, we may link the information you give us (such as your name, email, or phone number) to your Instagram comment record so we know which reel you came from.

Who can see it. Atlas Education team members who work on marketing or client intake. Access is limited to the people who need it for their role, and we remove access when someone leaves the team.

Where it is stored. In Atlas Education’s Google Workspace (a private spreadsheet and related working files) and on secured devices used by authorized team members. The credentials that connect the tool to Instagram are stored privately and are never shared.

How long we keep it. We keep Instagram comment and lead records that identify you for up to five years after your last interaction with us. After that, we delete them or remove anything that identifies you, and keep only aggregate data (which reel and keyword led to which outcome) to see which content works. You can ask us to delete your records sooner at any time (Section 8).

What we do not do with it. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising targeting, or share it with anyone outside Atlas Education other than the service providers that host our tools (Section 6). We use it in line with Meta’s Platform Terms and Developer Policies.

5. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Respond to your questions and inquiries.
  • Schedule and deliver Strategy Calls, consultations, and client services.
  • Send you the guides, webinars, and resources you request, along with follow-up emails and our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Understand which videos, posts, and channels bring people to us, and improve our content and services.
  • Run the business: keep records, process payments, communicate with students and parents, and manage our team.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our users, our team, and Atlas Education.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. How we share information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers that help us run Atlas. These include cloud storage and productivity tools (Google Workspace), our email marketing platform, form and scheduling tools, our payment processor (Stripe), social media messaging and comment automation tools, workflow automation, social media analytics tools, and our website host. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
  • Our team. Atlas Education consultants, staff, and interns who need the information to serve you.
  • Social platforms. When you interact with us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or Discord, those platforms collect data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
  • Legal reasons. If required by law or a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Atlas Education, our users, or others.
  • Business changes. If Atlas Education is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not share your personal information with other businesses for their own marketing.

7. How long we keep information

  • Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information.
  • Inquiries and lead records (including Instagram comment records) that identify you: up to five years after your last interaction with us, or sooner if you ask us to delete them. Each new interaction with us restarts that period.
  • Client records: for the length of your engagement, and afterward only as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes (generally up to seven years for payment records).
  • Website analytics: kept in aggregate form in Google Analytics and does not identify you by name.

When a retention period ends, we delete the information or remove anything that identifies you. We may keep de-identified, aggregate data (for example, which reel or keyword led to a booking) indefinitely to improve our content.

8. How to request deletion of your data

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time, including any data we received through Instagram or other Meta platforms. Here is how:

  1. Email contact@atlaseducation.co with the subject line “Data deletion request”.
  2. Tell us the email address you used with us and/or your Instagram username, and say whether you want everything deleted or only specific records.
  3. We will confirm that we received your request within 10 business days and complete the deletion within 45 days of receiving it. We will email you when it is done.

What we delete. Your contact details, your Instagram comment and lead records, your email subscription, call notes, and any other information we hold about you. We keep only what the law requires us to retain (for example, records of paid services for accounting purposes) or what is part of an active client engagement, and we will tell you if either applies.

Parents and guardians can request deletion on behalf of a student under 18.

You can also unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. Deleting your comment on Instagram removes it from Instagram but does not automatically remove our stored record; use the steps above for that.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction. You can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email contact@atlaseducation.co.
  • Deletion. See Section 8.
  • Marketing emails. Unsubscribe using the link in any email. We will still send emails needed to deliver a service you booked.
  • Cookies. Block or delete them in your browser settings (Section 3).
  • California residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information. To make a request, email contact@atlaseducation.co.
  • Outside the United States. Atlas Education operates in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.

10. Children’s privacy

Our services are for high school students and their families, so many of the people we work with are under 18. We handle students’ information with care, and we encourage parents to be involved from the first contact.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube also require their users to be at least 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without a parent’s consent, we will delete it.

Parents and guardians can contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete their child’s information (Section 8).

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Access is limited to team members who need it for their role and is removed when someone leaves the team. The credentials for our tools and integrations are kept private, and our data is stored with established providers such as Google. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe.

12. Changes to this policy and how to contact us

We may update this policy as our tools or practices change. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new date at the top.

If you have questions about this policy or about your information, email us at contact@atlaseducation.co.
